Thanks, everyone

I'll post a little more later, when I can.

I think part of it is that there are some frail elderly people (and a couple with extremely life-threatening conditions) in that parish so it wasn't the death I was expecting.

Amazingly enough, I did not collapse in tears during church today. Funeral is on Tuesday evening and I will be part of the Dead Spread* crew, which will be good recovery for me, I think.

* If you listened to Saturday All Things Considered, you heard my pal Barb the Blue Ribbon Queen of the Minny-Soda State Fair ... who popularized the term on rec.food.cooking. (If you've had my brownies, that's her recipe.)

You know Barb the Blue Ribbon Queen?! I did hear her piece! Can you share her brownie recipe, please?

Glad you are finding yourself sustained somehow. May God continue to uphold you.

On a slightly morbid note, about whom in the community should I worry? I can't come look in on you often, so just appreciate updates if you can manage any. Thanks!

Re: ATC
Here's the recipe. I usually put all vanilla in and start checking at 25 minutes - I usually bake in my Pyrex and they have often reached brownie doneness (tiny fudgy crumb on tester) by then.

(Dick Rogers, Hobart, and Rhoda are on my own personal Worry List.)
