The Glorious Fourth

I woke up this morning and punched on the radio to hear NPR's annual re-reading of the Declaration of Independence. Good stuff.

As is traditional with me, I spent the morning cooking, and will spend the afternoon eating. I will probably come back home to see how the Maginator is with fireworks.

All wishes for a happy Fourth to mah fellow 'Murricans.

That's terrific. I didn't know they did that (not often being awake that early on holidays, I guess - or not listening to radio that early, anyways. Something to remember.

I read Orwell's 1984. Also something to remind one how absolutely wonderful it is, and how fortunate we are, to live in America. There's lots to criticize, but heck - it's a big country, with lots of people, and that will happen.

Hope everyone else had a pleasant Fourth!
