Today, after waking up to the news of a terrorist plot involving exploding airplanes being foiled, I found my laminated card of St. Paul's steeple through the smoke and the flames of the World Trade Center across the street from it. I had bought it at Trinity Wall Street in May of 2002, when New York no longer smelled like death, but the signs of what had happened were still everywhere. It brought back memories, oh yes it did. Safe travels to all.

On the back is Romans 8:38-39:

Let us remember that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(pretty similar to what I posted to episcopal)

I have some friends in England this week and they will be returning this week or next. So, please wing your Industrial Strength prayers to all travelling Morris dancers.

I *was* going to go to Ireland this year, but maybe not. I might spend my birthday/sabbatical going to yoga retreats and driving around to visit friends.
