upcoming change in the household

The wireless stopped working yesterday morning. It was still off last night - I power cycled the router, no dice. Today I decided to run Find Devices in Device Manager for sheer kicks and grins. I can have internetz again.

I hope to post something substantial soonish, but for now ...

Long story short, I may be PWNED by a tortie again Real Soon Now. I was not in the market for another qat, but she desperately needs a new home. The cat is presently in Portland. I am in Berkeley. There has been money collected by wonderful internet people (who did not want kitty to end up in a non-no-kill shelter) sufficient to cover a vet checkup (happening real soon now) and a cargo air ticket for kitty; however, if someone is coming down this way from Orrygun sometime soonish and can accompany kitty that would be great (we will still pay the fare). I am willing to meet you partway.

Of course if you know someone in Portland who would like a cat, do let me know. (Please do not mention this on damn portlanders - if you know the backstory already please keep it quiet, we do not want the dramaz, we just loves the kittehz.)

So if you know of someone who knows of someone ... also, you terrific shelter volunteers (I'm looking at you, E and J) may have some ProTips for us.
