ahhhhhh

Temperature by the big Cromer sign on 880, near the stadium:

Thursday night, driving home: 96 (that's ninety-fucking-six in Oakland)
Friday morning, driving in: 80
This morning, driving in: 60
This evening, driving home: 58

I feel much more productive.

See, it's traditional to escape the heat of the interior- or somewhat-interior valleys (like where you live) by schlepping out to the coast (like where I do). My grandparents' photo album is full of August trips to Santa Cruz, Stinson, Baker beaches. (And walking around SF in sweaters!).

Which is why we coasties don't have AC; God (or Nature, depending on how you look at it) usually provides it. And we get miserable when it's really hot here, too.

Glad the nights are cooling off for you. I'm hoping this is a return to more-normal summer weather patterns. Especially since all those fires got set off :( (did I miss the lightning or was it not where I was?)
