Jane is fierce

All Mixed Up

I don't feel like I've had two days of vacation, although I definitely have. Might have something to do with the fact that the weekend was jam-packed. The days feel all mixed up; Saturday felt like a busy Sunday, Sunday felt like a work day (5.5 hours at the office), and yesterday felt like my Saturday - run errands, goof around on the computer, but try to relax. (Despite the weather, which has turned quite wet again.)

I had been thinking of having people over for Easter lunch but I'm feeling quite disorganized (and messy) at the moment. I won't have much more time at the house the next two days (before I take off) either. After Vigil, I wonder if I will just want to come home and sleep.

I did get my taxes done and buy my young cousin's wedding present, cat_herder printed out the photos for my aunt with me. I have been busy in the kitchen; I've made four batches of lemon curd, the peanut butter cookie dough for Easter, one batch of ganache for truffles, and spiced lemons. I could cut up lemons for more marmalade right now, but I'm tired. (I tried Frog Hollow Farm's Meyer lemon marmalade at the FM this afternoon, and I liked mine better.)

I'd like to do some more cleaning, in honor of the two-year anniversary of my getting really serious with the organizing. I had been shining my sink, but started in with the other stuff on the date that the "shootin' war" started (which anniversary was Friday). My sink is shining, a la Flylady, and I actually can close my underwear drawer now. Maggie had knocked a lot of stuff off the top of the dresser off, so that may be the next little bit to get done. It's hard to believe that it's been really only two years, though; a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.
