The things you find out reading LJ ...

I learned that an acquaintance of mine had gone into labor by reading her LJ. That felt distressingly modern at first, but, hey, it's a heckuva way to keep up with the news.

I went out to dinner with cat_herder and ayse last night. (As I have two other blogs, which I'm sporadic about, I mostly got this account to comment on theirs and other's LJs.) Just before ayse arrived, I had noticed that feorag had friended me, and read her journal, to learn that she and her husband autopope had been flashed by some ned on their way home from the pub (they live in central Edinburgh). And I was laughing because, while it's not nice to get flashed by someone when you're minding your own, F. never noticed and C. played it cool and the flasher got increasingly frustrated about it.

I had known that ayse had updated her other blog before reading about it in her LJ, but I found out that jbt369 finally picked up the boat he bought on Ebay and was going tra-la-la up the Columbia with another mutual friend the old-fashioned way (um, gossip). Even though it was in his blog.

I suspect this will be definitely a way of Keeping Up With Each Other when ayse goes off to college in another part of the state in the fall.
