Yesterday's News

I went into the break room to heat up my lunch and was idly flipping through the daily newspapers on the table. All of them had "gone to bed" before the bombs went off in London so they were, indeed, yesterday's news. The Comical had a wrap up of the almost-strike at BART in large type above the fold. The Bee had an article about London's unexpected snag of the 2012 Summer Games, with a big photo of a young woman with Union Jacks painted on her face on the back. Both are, of course, yesterday's news. They feel like last year's news, actually.

There was also the sense of "it's deja vu all over again" as I woke up, punched on NPR, and had news of a major disaster start seeping through my brain pan.
